Mrs. Katie Taylor
My name is Mrs. Katie Taylor (formerly Miss Tocci...I got married over the summer!) I am thrilled to be the third grade teacher at Microsociety Academy Charter School! This will be my tenth year of teaching elementary school and my fifth year of teaching third grade. I obtained my Bachelor’s degree from Rivier College in Elementary and Special Education and my Master’s degree from New England College in Literacy and Language Arts. In my spare time, I perform with my local community musical theater organization. I also love spending time with my husband Arthur and our cats, Luna and Remmy! :)
I believe that every child is unique and special. We all have strengths that make us leaders in different situations. Our classroom will be a place that nurtures and encourages that individuality. While our classroom will be very structured in terms of behavioral expectations, effort, and classroom routines, it will also be a warm and inviting place where students will feel safe, valued, and encouraged to make choices and take risks.
I believe in this place. I feel honored to work in a school that fosters independence and responsibility in students. It has been an absolute privilege to see the growth of my students throughout the school year and witness how invested they become in the Microsociety principles. We work hard together and have fun learning everyday. I am looking forward to another fantastic year at MACS with a new group of third grade learners. We are going to have a fantastic year together!!
